VAIL, CO - Dogs of all breeds and sizes will be jumping for distance this summer at the Teva Mountain Games, at the inaugural Diving Dog Challenge sponsored by Purina. This fun, dog loving event will take place at 4:00 PM on June 2nd at Gold Peak in Vail, Colorado. Expect to see dogs leaping well in excess of 20 feet.
You've probably seen this wildly popular canine sport on t.v. The competition is simple. The handlers throw a bumper or toy of their choice to lure their dogs into the pool. The dogs run off a 40'stage and jump into a pool that is 40' long x 17' wide x 3' deep. The dog's jump is measured for distance based on where the dog's nose is when its chest enters the water. The top 8 jumpers from the qualifying round will go up against 8 professional dogs for the Championship round in the Diving Dog Challenge. Go to (website) to get all the information to register your dog to compete in the event. The field is limited to the first 75 to sign up. One entry per person. Anyone can enter!
